Bioinformatics: Using technology to improve healthcare
The purpose of the Bioinformatics core under the supervision of the University of Iowa college of engineering is to develop the technological resources required to develop and maintain a large database for the research of atypical HUS.
The Bioinformatics core serves as the central hub for collecting, linking, and distributing the information collected by researchers at the center. It also helps to link investigators at other institutions with the center so that researchers across the country and even world may collaborate with the researchers at our center.
In addition to this the bioinformatics core provides the raw computing power neccessary to analyze much of the information gained through tests run by our researchers.
